Unit 001
The Quantum Processing Unit (QPU) forms the core of the quantum computer. Its most integral part is the ion trap, in which the ions / qubits are being held and manipulated. At neQxt, we do the entire QPU assembly in-house and source the critical QPUs components from leading manufacturers in Europe.
To enable the QPU to do its job, a multitude of hardware systems are required, including control electronics, photonics, vacuum systems, and lasers. Many of these systems are developed and built in-house by neQxt.
All the required layers of the software stack to run and use our quantum computers are developed in-house, from the component-level control software to the end user interface.
Quantum Error Correction (QEC) is one of the most essential parts to make actual use of a quantum computer. A highly specialized team of experts at neQxt adapts and further develops the most efficient and useful QEC algorithms for our hardware.
WHY NEQXT
Trapped ions are nature's most reliable qubits. We pair them with 3D traps, room-temperature operation and precise laser control to build quantum computers that are stable, efficient and ready to grow.

UNIFORMITY
Ions are natural atoms. Unlike artificially fabricated qubits, no two of them ever differ.

STABILITY
Isolated in vacuum, held only by electric fields and cooled by laser light, ions keep their quantum state long enough for deep circuits.

FIDELITY
The best gate fidelities and highest quantum volumes reported in recent years have all been measured on trapped ions.
ARCHITECTURE
Deeper confining potentials increase stability and lifetime of the ions.
COOLING
The neQxt systems have no need for resource-intensive cryogenic systems or ultra-low temperatures.
POWER
Avoiding cryogenics and using highly efficient lasers, all neQxt systems feature low power consumption.
CONTROL
Pure addressing or pure shuttling of ions limit scalability – neQxt combines both technologies to massively reduce overhead.

Unit 001

neQxt was spun out of the Schmidt-Kaler research group at Mainz University, which has worked on quantum science for over thirty years and has run trapped-ion quantum computers since 2010. Traps, vacuum systems, electronics, control software and application software are developed and built by the company itself.
OUR AIM
